Decatur is the largest city in Dekalb county, from which Atlanta is comprised. Located just 5 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, the city is well served by MARTA, there are three rail stations that serve the city of Decatur. Decatur is bordered by Kirkwood to the west and Druid Hills to the NW. Real estate architecture differs throughout the neighborhoods of Decatur, but expect charming Tudor, Craftsman/Bungalow, Colonial, traditional, mid-century and newer construction. Over the last few decades, Decatur has grown into a progressive city that still retains its small town feel next to the larger metropolis of Atlanta.
