Tudor, Tudor and more Tudor! Historic Avondale Estates, named for the birthplace of William Shakespeare, is one of the most uniquely characteristic neighborhoods in all of Atlanta! That was because the neighborhood’s founder (G.F. WIllis) was inspired by a trip to England with his wife in the early 1920’s. That is where he dreamed up this neighborhood designed to feature the majestic Tudor-Revival style of architecture. From its historic downtown Tudor Village to the annual festivals which include Art-B-Que in the spring and Autumnfest in, you guessed it, Autumn! Avondale Estates is also home to the award winning Museum School Charter School which has a museum concept of exploration and discovery to learning.
