East Atlanta is the home of the “hipster”. Bordered by neighborhoods such as Grant Park, Ormewood Park, Reynoldstown and Kirkwood, East Atlanta Village is the commercial district of a bohemian neighborhood filled with indie shops, dive bars and restaurants, yoga studios and mural street art everywhere you turn. The neighborhood has quite the history, from Indian natives to Civil War then Reconstruction then Civil Rights. By the 1970’s, East Atlanta real estate was valued much lower than other areas of the city but that began to change with the 21st century. Revitalization projects yielded an award winning “Atlanta’s Best Neighborhood” by 2008. Local architecture includes: cottages/Bungalows, mid century Ranch, Craftsman and newer construction. Local annual events include: East Atlanta Strut, Craft Beer Festival, Twilight Criterium Races and weekly Farmers Market. Nearby Beltline access!
